Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain

Many surgeons only ablate (or burn) endometriosis. Unfortunately, such an approach leads to very high rates of endometriosis recurrence – if there is improvement at all. We specialize in complete excision of endometriosis, which involves removing the disease rather than destroying it superficially. Importantly, great care is taken to utilize various surgical techniques to drastically reduce scar tissue formation. Most endometriosis excision specialists will skip this critical step – but studies have shown that reducing scar tissue leads to improved outcomes for pain and fertility.
